Collection: Upholstery and carpets

A coffee stain on the sofa or a rug that smells like a dog? Coffee, wine, and grease penetrate the fibers, and a regular detergent won't pull them out.

  • 200 m² from one bottle - that’s a sofa, two rugs, and armchairs to spare
  • 20 ml per 100 ml of water for fresh stains, 30-50 ml and 15 minutes for old ones
  • By hand and in an extractor - the same bottle for both methods
  • Color-safe, and safe for foam and springs in furniture
  • Vegan, biodegradable, microplastic-free - citrus scent, not chemical

Not sure what to choose? One bottle covers 200 m² of surface area. Do you have a dog, children, or car upholstery? The 2×1000 ml set is cheaper per liter than a single bottle.

How to choose a method based on material type

Not every fabric tolerates the same treatment. Check the sofa or carpet label before cleaning - symbols W (wet cleaning), S (solvents only), WS (both), or X (vacuum only) determine the method.

Material Method Vitaclean Dosage
Structured fabric (polyester, cotton) Wet cleaning ✓ 20–30 ml / 100 ml water
Microfiber Wet cleaning ✓ 20 ml / 100 ml water, gently
Velour / velvet Test mandatory - minimal wetness 20 ml / 100 ml, dry cloth
Natural leather / eco-leather ❌ Do not use - separate leather cleaner -
Wool carpet Test mandatory 20 ml / 100 ml, short contact

Test on an inconspicuous area - a step that saves your sofa

Before you start cleaning a visible stain, apply a small amount of the diluted solution to a hidden spot (e.g., under a cushion or on the underside of the seat). Wait 5 minutes and check: has the color changed, are the fibers deforming, or does the surface look different? If everything is OK, proceed with the actual cleaning.

This step takes 5 minutes and could save a sofa worth thousands. Do not skip it, even with seemingly simple fabrics.

Most common types of stains and how to tackle them

Greasy stains (butter, oil, sauce): First, absorb the excess with a paper towel or dry cloth - never rub it in. Apply a concentrated Vitaclean solution (40 ml/100 ml), wait 10 minutes. Wipe with a motion from the outside to the center of the stain.

Staining stains (wine, coffee, tea, juice): Act immediately - fresh stains are removed much more easily. Dilution 20 ml/100 ml, gentle rubbing, wipe with a damp cloth. Old stain: 50 ml/100 ml, cover with plastic film for 20–30 minutes, then wipe.

Odors (smoke, pets, sweat): The smell comes from proteins and fats that have penetrated deep into the fibers. Use a 30 ml/100 ml solution, work it in with a soft-bristled brush (to reach deep into the fibers). Leave for 15 minutes and dry thoroughly - moisture in the upholstery traps odors.

Manual cleaning step by step

  1. Vacuum the surface thoroughly before cleaning - dry dirt reinforces wet stains.
  2. Prepare the Vitaclean solution in a bowl or spray bottle.
  3. Apply to the stain or the entire surface in sections - do not over-soak.
  4. Gently work in with a soft brush or cloth using a circular motion (for stains) or along the grain (for the whole surface).
  5. Wipe with a clean, damp cloth (no detergents).
  6. Dry with a dry towel - press down, do not scrub.
  7. Ventilate the room until completely dry.

Extraction vacuum and extractor - how to do it right

Vitaclean is low-foaming - safe for extraction vacuums and extractors. Dosage: 20–30 ml per liter of water in the device's clean water tank. Do not exceed the dose - excessive detergent may foam in the dirty water tank and hinder drainage.

After cleaning with an extractor: go over the surface again with just clean water - this will rinse out residual detergent from the fibers, which prevents them from attracting dirt again.

How to dry to avoid water marks and mustiness

Water marks form when moisture migrates from the center of the stain to the edge and leaves a deposit rim. You can prevent them by: using minimal water, immediate drying with a dry towel, and quick evaporation.

Drying method Rating Notes
Absorbent towel + fan ✓ best Fast, no marks
Open window + natural air ✓ good In low humidity
Hair dryer ⚠️ careful Cool air only, 30 cm distance
Closed room without ventilation ❌ avoid Mustiness guaranteed after 24h

Frequently asked questions

How to clean coffee or wine stains off a sofa?

Vitaclean 20 ml/100 ml water (fresh stains) or 30–50 ml/100 ml (old, 10–15 min contact). Apply, work in, wipe with a damp cloth. 1 L is enough for over 200 m².

What is the dosage for Vitaclean upholstery cleaner?

Light stains: 20 ml/100 ml water. Heavy stains: 30–50 ml/100 ml, 10–15 minutes contact time. For extraction vacuums: 20–30 ml per liter of water in the tank.

Is Vitaclean suitable for an extraction vacuum?

Yes. Low-foaming - safe for Kärcher, Bissell, Polti, and other extractors. 20–30 ml per liter of water in the tank. After cleaning, go over it once with just clean water to rinse the agent from the fibers.

How to remove dog or cat odors from a sofa?

Vitaclean 30 ml/100 ml, work into the fibers with a brush, leave for 15 minutes. The agent breaks down the proteins responsible for the odor - it removes them rather than masking them. Ventilate well after cleaning.

Is Vitaclean safe for velour and microfiber?

For microfiber - yes, 20 ml/100 ml. For velour - always test on a hidden area first. Vitaclean is pH-neutral and bleach-free, which reduces the risk of discoloration.

How to dry upholstery after cleaning to avoid water marks?

Minimal water + immediate drying with a dry towel (press, do not scrub) + ventilation of the room. Hair dryer on cool air only from a distance of 30 cm.

Does Vitaclean remove old, dried stains from carpets?

Yes, but it requires more time. 50 ml/100 ml water, cover with plastic wrap for 20–30 minutes. Wipe with a cloth from the outside of the stain toward the center. Repeat for very old stains.
